surgery

Mission Trails Jan. 14th, 2012

This is a little update. Apparently there was a miscommunication between my general surgeon's nurse and my plastic surgeon's nurse. I will be having a lymphectomy along with the bilateral mastectomy. He will be removing 3 to 5 lymph nodes. Oh joy and I thought I was going to escape. I guess better safe than sorry. In this case sorry could be the death of me. So take those lymph nodes! Radiation is still up in the air. Surgery is next wednesday and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little scared. Truthfully it's just the pain I'm afraid of...go figure. I have total faith in my team. "Just another bump in the road" (I gotta start using map quest.)

My hope is to be back to work by the middle of March. I know it seems hard to believe but I really do miss work. I get alot of joy from it.

A belated Merry Christmas!

This is Cocoa modeling one of my Christmas hats. She's much cuter than me.

I finished my last chemotherapy treatment on December 19th. YEAH!!!!!!!!!

I also have good news. My surgery is considered prophylactic so no lymphectomy or radiation. I suppose this is subject to change once the surgeon gets in there. (and yes that is an embroidered roll of toilet paper!)

This is my friend Patricia we have been doing small hikes. I'm trying to build up my strength and stamina. If you look closely my eyebrows are almost gone. I thought I was going to escape with them intact. Bummer.
